The Global Water Crisis

It is estimated that over 1 billion people lack access to clean, safe drinking water around the world.

***

Most of these people live in developing countries and live on less than $2 a day, and more than 385 million on less than $1 a day.

***

Over 6,000 children die every day in developing countries from poor water and sanitation, killing over 2 million children per year.

***

Worldwide access to safe drinking water is the second largest killer of children under 5 according to the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF.

***

A child dies every 15 seconds from poor water and sanitation and the effects of water related diseases.

***

These deaths can be prevented by providing clean, safe life-sustaining drinking  water from existing ground water resources.

In sub-Saharan Africa, 288 million people, or 42% of the population, lack access to clean, safe drinking water. Most of these people live in rural areas.

***

In Kenya,  approximately 15 million people lack access to life-sustaining clean, safe  water.

Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will Never Thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
